The position will be responsible for the overall management and administration of the college’s compensation and classification plans. This will include evaluation of and recommendation of new plans, communication of plan information, and training stakeholders as needed. Manages the compensation and classification team.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Human Resources Certification preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM – CP, or SHRM – SCP). 2. Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred. 3. At least three years of progressively responsible experience in Compensation and/or Classification. 4. Supervisory experience. 5. Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and complete projects under deadline pressure. 6. Working knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). 7. Knowledge of other federal, state, and local laws related to the area of responsibility. 8. Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to provide guidance and assistance to all levels of employees, including managing a team. 9. Strong Microsoft skills particularly in Excel. 10. Strong oral communication skills with the ability to use tact, diplomacy, flexibility and discretion in all interactions. 11. Communication skills to include experience in drafting communication that is easy for employees to understand. 12. Ability to identify situations that may need further research and/or elevation to supervisor. 13. Experience in a customer service related environment ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service and delivering positive rapport with internal and external contacts. 14. Experience developing and conducting training programs related to the area of responsibility.
The position requires at least a Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of prior-related work experience.
