The Colleges Business Office (CBO), established in 2012 provides financial, human resources, academic personnel, facilities management and related administrative services to all six colleges, which include the Provost offices, Writing/Core sequence programs, academic advising, student affairs and residence life units, as well as the Council of Provosts (COP).
Under the general supervision of the HR Operations Manager, this key position for the undergraduate Colleges Business Office (CBO) serves as a HR Coordinator and is a member of the CBO-HR Team.
The HR Coordinator provides human resources support for two assigned colleges (i.e. for approximately 50 monthly/biweekly staff employees,and 150-200 student employees). Duties include: recruiting and onboarding employees; processing online payroll by timekeeping deadlines; resolving timekeeping/pay discrepancies in a timely manner; responding to all inquiries involving payroll including time reporting, vacation & sick leave accruals, pay rates, final leave balances, and questions or concerns about paychecks; processing service credit; tracking limited appointment, visa end dates, probationary evaluations, etc.

Demonstrated human resources experience to include: recruitment, payroll, visa processing, student employment, on-boarding, and other personnel processes.
Proven experience in using on-line Timekeeping Systems, on-line Integrated personnel Information Systems, Payroll/Personnel Systems, and UC on-line systems preferred.
Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing. Effective writing skills to prepare correspondence, various documents and reports, and email. Proven knowledge of correct usage of English language, grammar, punctuation and spelling.
Proficiency with Windows operating systems and related business and communication software. Ability to learn and use various campus administrative computing systems and applications including, but not limited to, IFIS, ISIS, EmployeeLink, PPS, MyTime, etc. with ability to update and expand skills as needed.
Demonstrated knowledge of student hiring policies and procedures. Proficiency in using Career Services Website to post student job openings preferred.
Knowledge of human resources employment laws, for example: Americans with Disabilities Act, and Affirmative Action & Equal Opportunity preferred.
Demonstrated strong customer service experience in human resources.
Ability to work independently, and as a part of a collaborative team. Ability to prioritize deadlines and projects, including coordinating the efforts of multiple contributors, and establish time frames for completion of projects and assignments.
