Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Human Resources Preparer for University Human Resources. This position, under the direct supervision of the Director Human Capital Management, reviews actions requested by departments to be submitted for HCM processing; completes data input through templates for daily, individual, salary and data actions for faculty and staff from hire through termination; and submits to the HR Approver for review and submission through the HCM Unit or directly to the Payroll Database.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Reviews documentation for compliance with federal and state regulations, university policy, and bargaining units' contracts before entering the request into the workflow.
Monitors workflow and follows up to ensure the completion of tasks within deadlines.
Maintains and updates all databases and programs needed to execute actions and track and report on activities. Ensures good customer service and the confidentiality of work, databases, and communications.
May assist with the review, update, and documentation of new procedures for work.
Runs reports, tracks data, reviews, and works to ensure accurate submissions within deadlines.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Requires effective data entry, analytical, mathematical, statistical, problem solving, organizational, interpersonal, communication, collaborative, and client service skills; attention to detail; flexibility; the abilities to follow direction; understand and apply contract terms and federal and state laws; set priorities, meet deadlines; research; create action plans; work independently, collaboratively, and within a team; and maintain confidentiality.
Also requires computer literacy to include Internet and web-based systems and demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Excel and Word.
Experience with PeopleSoft Human Capital Management systems, university HR and payroll processing, and with MS Access.
PeopleSoft HRMS experience.
