This incumbent will be responsible for the on-cycle payroll processing through the PeopleSoft system and serve as a Non-Resident (NRA) lead for NRA new hire payroll processing paperwork.
Specific duties include:
Ensuring accurate submission of reports to the campus and state system.
Reporting NRA reporting data, tax treaty information, and expiration data.
Monitoring NRA tax paperwork and process NRA tax information in the PeopleSoft System.
Ensuring paperwork and data is accurate and up to date in the system.
Staying informed of NRA tax issues including compliance, treaty changes, and other relevant policies/procedures relating to NRA.
Attending training sessions and conducts research to ensure University compliance.
Serving as the knowledge expert on NRA payroll and payroll processing conducting training to campus payroll preparers as needed.
Completing e-verify for new hires/current employees as needed.
Providing a high level of immediate customer service to staff and faculty via telephone calls, emails or office visits needing forms and/or with payroll related questions including conducting necessary research and taking action to resolve issues.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree preferably in Accounting, Human Resources, Business or related fields and two years (four preferred) of payroll or human resources experience. Must have: excellent verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail; ability to work in a fast-paced, people oriented environment; demonstrated proficiency with computers and software; and strong Excel skills.
General knowledge of University policies and procedures.
Familiarity and experience with PeopleSoft Human Resources software.
Higher education experience.
