The HR Manager is responsible for performing HR-related duties and works closely with the Director of HR in supporting designated areas. This position carries out responsibilities in the following areas: onboarding of new hires, off-boarding and internal changes, benefits administration & FMLA support, employee queries, training support, report writing/reporting requests, and database maintenance. This role reports to the Director of Human Resources.
Duties and Responsibilities
Initiate and complete Personnel Action Forms and partner with payroll on employee changes, updates and payroll-related activities
Participation in preparation and release of offer/annual salary letters
Participation in preparation and release of separation letters and management of termination checklist
Maintenance of employee database system (Microsoft Access; Veracross)
Tracking and dissemination of Blue Book updates; coordination with Veracross and other school-wide systems
Preparation and analysis of HR related reports and surveys
Benefit open enrollment process; materials preparation, systems updates and coordination of online enrollment system (PlanSource) activities and reporting
Coordination of HR-related trainings, including mandated Child Abuse trainings administered through SafeSchools.
Response to employee queries related to HR
Organization of Google drive HR folder content on GFS Drives (Fac/Staff Docs and GFS website)
Documentation of HR processes (Standard Operating Procedures)
Management of the FMLA process; tracking and follow-up
Additional duties as assigned

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required
Three plus years of professional office experience; relevant Human Resources experience preferred
Experience in an educational settings a plus
Working knowledge of PA regulations and employment law preferred
Ability to physically perform the duties required and to work in the environmental conditions required such as
Maneuvering in an office space-reaching file cabinets, filing, faxing, scanning, coping, typing, mailing, and making phone calls
Standing, walking, sitting for long periods of time, speaking loudly and clearly, seeing and hearing things both near and far away, stooping, kneeling, fine finger and hand manipulation in use of a computer, chalkboard, dry erase board or projector
Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
