GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Human Resources Generalist builds and maintains collaborative partnerships with managers and staff to facilitate the delivery of strategic and operational human resources programs and services that supports and advances the University's mission.
Plans, develops and implements recruitment and talent acquisition strategies including the recruitment, screening, selection, placement, and hiring of qualified and diverse staff for positions across the University.
Consults with department partners to resolve complex HR issues and respond accordingly to managers and employees.
Serves as liaison between management, staff and applicants regarding University policies, employment policies and practices.
Consults with supervisors and staff on a variety of employee relations matters; leads or participates in investigations, and provide objective recommendations for appropriate action and resolution.
Actively works to support University compliance with local, state, and federal laws and statutes related to employment.
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of three years (3) directly related experience in human resources required.
Minimum of one year recruitment, selection, hiring and onboarding experience required.
Knowledge of local, state and federal employment law and regulations.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
SHRM-CP/SCP, or PHR/SPHR certification preferred
Previous HR generalist experience in a non-profit, mission-driven organization.
Demonstrated commitment to intercultural competency and knowledge of the IDI tool.
