The Work-Study Assistant, under general supervision, will assist the Office of Human Resources & Student Employment with daily operations, special projects, and other duties deemed necessary by the supervisor.
Greet customers by phone and at the front desk in a professional manner, determine the needs of external and internal customers, and provide excellent customer service.
Assist with Workday training sessions and provide answers to FAQs
Create proposals, marketing plans, surveys, and advertisement materials
Organize and maintain confidential information to include but not be limited to On-Boarding, Off Boarding, Benefits, Leave, Employee Relations, etc.
Handle and create confidential documents (scanning, copying, filing, faxing, distributing)
Complete the imagine and storage of confidential documents inside of Digital Records Repository
Assist with the implementation of departmental programs and projects related to enhancing student employment
Research employment processes at other educational institutions; to include student, faculty, and staff
Serve as an ambassador for PVAMU student employment programs
Assist students to locate jobs on campus
Serve as liaison for HR and the Wellness Coordinators/Rec Sports on Wellness Programs for staff and faculty
Assist with monthly employee wellness events and exploring professional wellness associations, conferences, and memberships
Assist with other duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience:
Presently enrolled at Prairie View A&M University for at least six (6) undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done.
Must be in academic good standing (SAP) as demonstrated through your college; minimum 2.0 GPA
No prior experience necessary
Summer Term - Student must be enrolled at PVAMU for at least three (3) graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done or preregistered at least six (6) undergraduate semester hours or nine (9) graduate semester hours for the upcoming fall term.)
