The Department of Management at Boise State University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Clinical Professor position in Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior starting in August 2020. The successful applicant is expected to teach both online and face-to-face undergraduate and graduate courses in human resource management, and organizational behavior topics such as negotiations, conflict resolution, and leadership.
The standard teaching load for a clinical position is three courses per semester and could be scheduled in seven week or 16 week sessions, depending on the course and delivery format (online and/or face-to-face). This position will be offered on a 9-month contract with opportunity to teach during summer sessions for additional compensation. Assistant or Associate designation will be offered based upon qualifications.
The Department of Management hosts the most majors in the College of Business and Economics, with over 1,000 students majoring in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management, International Business, or in Management in our innovative online Management degree completion program. We also provide courses in four MBA programs, including our nationally recognized online MBA program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Teaching load is three classes per semester in undergraduate and/or graduate courses in human resource management and organizational behavior topics in online and/or face-to-face formats.
Courses could include: Managing Human Resources, Negotiation and Conflict Management, Leadership and High Performing Teams, Employee Staffing and Training, People and Organizations.
Maintain “SA – Scholarly Academic” faculty designation for AACSB accreditation purposes. This requires publication of two Peer Reviewed Journal articles or one Peer Reviewed publication and other substantial scholarly contributions such as scholarly books, chapters in edited volumes and invited book chapters, published by reputable publishers, within a five-year rolling period.
Remain current and identify emerging trends in areas relevant to undergraduate business programs.
Service and Administrative Responsibilities (20%):
Creates and fosters relationships with the local business community on behalf of COBE and the undergraduate HRM majors, and online Management Program.
Clinical faculty are expected to provide a level of connection to practice that significantly exceeds the level provided by instructors and tenured/tenure-track faculty.

A terminal degree (PhD, DBA,JD) at the time of appointment in human resource management, organizational behavior or related field from a nationally or internationally accredited university.
Experience teaching human resource management or organizational behavior topics at the university undergraduate and/or graduate level.
Must be willing to teach online.
Evidence of a commitment to research/scholarly activity and potential to publish in human resource journals or related fields, such as organizational behavior or I/O psychology.
1 or more years of experience teaching online in Blackboard or Canvas platforms.
Demonstrated track record of successful teaching of human resource management, organizational behavior, or related courses at a variety of levels.
Professional business experience.
Professional certification from a national organization such as the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) would be a plus.
A Ph.D. in human resource management, organizational behavior or related field from a nationally or internationally AACSB accredited university.
Existing connections or ability to create professional relationships in the Treasure Valley business community.
2+ publications within the last 5 years, and other evidence of established research program / pipeline.
