Serves as a working lead and trainer within the appointments team.� Provides audit and input of timesheets, leave records, leave balances, leave adjustments, queries and UNUM database.� Functions as a primary source of information for the departments regarding appointment and HRMS/payroll policies and procedures around leaves and UNUM interface.�
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides day-to-day leadership, training, problem solving and assignment of duties for appointments team.� Audits and approves monthly and biweekly time and leave documents for accuracy and timeliness. Reviews all timesheets, paysheets and additional pay entries for the University to ensure pay compliance.� Provides support and assistance as needed to manager.� Provides back up support in the approval process for faculty when needed.
Monitors team work flow of payroll and appointments leave transactions and assists in correcting or resolving leave pay or leave appointment issues.� Provides back up support as needed.� Responds to departmental questions related to all leave transactions.� Works to ensure overall compliance with various regulatory requirements when approving leave transactions in HRMS.
Reviews UNUM database transactions for intermittent leave to ensure consistency with University compensation policy.� Assists departments and benefits team with leave coordination and auditing.� Conducts simple analysis and resolves issues.� Identifies situations that need intervention and follows up with department.
Serves as a leaves liaison between UNUM, benefits, payroll, Danforth and Medical School departments regarding policies and procedures.� Provides appropriate support and timely follow up on all referenced questions or situations.� Monitors time off email box.� Communicates with employees as needed.� Provides support and assistance as needed to manager.
Functions as lead representative for Medical School on University wide projects related to payroll and appointments processes.� Handles special projects as assigned which include auditing payroll and I-9 practices, scanning, front desk and reporting.
Equivalent of High School diploma with 3-5 years’ experience in payroll and appointments.
Prefer 2+ years college courses in accounting, business or computer science and demonstrated supervisory experience.
3 – 5 years’ experience in payroll and time keeping and FMLA records keeping.
Knowledge of computerized systems and /or payroll software with ability to use routine office equipment including calculator and computer.
Demonstrated effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication/organizational skills.
High attention to detail and effective math skills with the ability to work independently and use discretionary judgment.
Must be able to handle confidential information and materials.
Demonstrated knowledge of University policies and practices.
Basic FLSA regulations and employment law understanding.
The hiring range for this position is $23.07 - $29.42 per hour.
