Reporting to the Senior Director of Learning and Development, we are searching for a Senior Staff Development Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity if you thrive in an interesting and challenging work environment. In this role, you will assist in the development, creation, delivery, maintenance and compliance of all HR programs across the university. As a member of the learning and development team, you will be an integral part of designing, delivering and assessing a variety of training programs from inception to delivery.
Your core responsibilities will include:
Assessing training and development needs within the Office of Human Resources and across all campus areas.
Developing training outlines, presentations, materials and learner guides in alignment with adult learning principles.
Determining instructional methodologies for individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops.
Understanding buy-versus-build approaches to training and recommending internal approaches or vendor programs that meet instructional goals and objectives.
Managing cohort-specific training and development programs around leadership, process improvement, and diversity and inclusion topics.
Facilitating training using multiple facilitation and delivery platforms and venues including face-to-face sessions, on-demand, self-directed modules and webinars.
Facilitating group and individual instruction and training covering a range of technical, operational, and/or competency based areas in a specified fields (e.g., Workday training, communication skills, team building, management topics, etc.).
Partnering with other members of the team to understand needs and quickly design and scale content in fast-paced setting.
Evaluating the effectiveness of programs and utilizing relevant evaluation data to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods.
Assisting, analyzing and assessing training and development needs for individuals, departments and/or university divisions/schools.
Supporting with all end-user training programs and HR events across the campus community.

You should demonstrate:
Capability to balance projects and tasks in a fast-paced setting;
Comprehensive knowledge and proven application of learner-centered, performance-based instructional theories and adult learning principles in multi-modal instruction;
Strong social skills with proven success in building and maintaining effective working partnerships across all areas; and
Solid attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, effectively prioritize, self-manage and tolerate ambiguity.
A bachelor's degree in relevant field required; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum three to five years of training, professional development, or related experience required; experience in human resources and/or an environment with rapid change highly desired.
Proficient use of Microsoft applications, eLearning publishing and learning assessments, SkillSoft, Articulate, and Confluence.
