This position provides, as first point of contact to internal and external clients, information regarding UW/UWC2 policies and procedures. RESPONSIBILITIES Human ResourcesServe as subject-matter expert responsible for substantive knowledge of human resource guidelines and policies and procedures related to SEIU classified, professional, student, and temporary workers.Serve as Human Resources contact for UWC2 hiring managers regarding job openings and the recruitment process, which includes working with campus HR Operations, UW Integrated Service Center (ISC), and the UW Compensation Office on specifications, definitions, and exemptions.Serve as subject-matter-expert and liaison to ensure procedures and required paperwork for new hires, resignations, and retirements are accurate and adhered to.Utilize Workday and UWHires to process all applicable UWC2 job requests by ensuring documents are completed correctly, initiating Workday position and job requisitions, tracking jobs via UWHires through the process, processing adjustments, and finalizing the hire.Assist in the preparation of job advertisements for various positions, post on job boards, and distribute to affinity groups.Explain and train department heads and hiring managers on the UWHires system during the recruiting process. Maintain contact with them to ensure positions are filled in a timely manner.During May and June ramp up hiring activities and conduct background checks for seasonal support of Summer Youth Programs and UW in the High School.Respond to candidate inquiries regarding current openings, application status, and assist in the preparation and delivery of job rejection notifications (written and verbal).Schedule interviews, make travel arrangements, and participate on interview committees as requested by hiring managers.Facilitate onboarding process to include pre- and post-hire email communications, Meet & Greet, UWC2 Orientations, etc.Create and mail appointment letters.Establish and maintain personnel files; maintain HR file retention and documentation systems.Work with the Human Resources Manager to set internal guidelines.Support the Human Resources Manager in new directions for procedures and policies.Plan and host annual Years of Service staff recognition events.Facilitate the UWC2 employee recognition and awards program, to include purchasing gifts and supplies.Process and track Professional Development requests.Maintain and regularly update communication templates, multiple tracking documents and systems, the HR wiki page, and UWC2 organizational charts.AdministrativeProvide administrative support to the Vice Provost Office, Assistant Vice Provost, and Human Resources Manager.Act as backup to the Executive Assistant to the Vice Provost.Other duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTSMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS include: High School Graduation or equivalent and three years of office experience including at least six months of experience in a human resources or related setting OR equivalent education/experience.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSPrior experience understanding and enforcing human resources policies and/or university policies.Outlook, Word, Access, Excel, and Visio knowledge.Ability to work in a team environment juggling multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines.Excellent customer service experience, with ability to demonstrate professional written and oral communications skills, proofing skills, and attention to detail.
