The Sr HR Associate reports to the Assistant Vice Provost for Budget and Planning, within the Office of the Provost. This position will provide centralized support for all aspects of employment administration for Provost-area divisions including, but not limited to Provost, University Programs, Research and Graduate Education, and VP Burlington Campus. Responsibilities will include managing the processes for position creation, position modifications, job postings, temporary non-student hires, extra compensation, time tracking, merit planning, visa processing support, as well as all on and off boarding procedures. Provide regular and adhoc reporting to the Provost Office budget and administration staff on the status of all open positions and position changes. This position will be the point of contact for hiring managers to assist with creation and/or modification of job scope descriptions and all talent management procedures.
The Sr HR Associate works closely with key personnel in central HRM. They work closely with Talent Acquisition Partners and managers to create recruiting plans and also with HR Business Partners regarding employee relations matters including but not limited to promotions, terminations, and performance improvement plans. This position requires a high level of customer service, problem solving, data management, confidentiality, organizational and critical thinking.
A Bachelor's degree plus three years of customer services/academic administrative experience is required. Ability to handle confidential information using good judgment and discretion at all times is essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate success in exacting professionalism and discretion on human resources matters and effective problem solving. The qualified candidate will present with excellent project management skills. Superior written and oral communication skills are required. Experience working in a human resources capacity within higher education is preferred.
Strong organizational skills, ability to manage/prioritize multiple projects; strong interpersonal communication skills with a focus on customer service. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office software suite, and the ability to learn new software packages. The ability to operate independently with periodic guidance.
