About the Position
This position performs high volume data processing work, including creating student employee positions in the payroll/time-tracking system, verifying eligibility for work study, and processing I-9 document verification for new student employees.
Additional duties include receiving visitors, answering telephone calls and providing routine information, or referring phone calls and visitors to an appropriate person. Occasional duties may include running errands and any other duties needing assistance within Human Resources.
What You'll Do
Perform numeric and alphanumeric data entry from multiple document sources.
Operate a date entry terminal with speed and accuracy for a variety of data processing applications in a high volume operation.
Maintain filing systems and departmental records.
Perform other general clerical functions as required.
Ability to honor and work with all identities and individuals, particularly those who are underrepresented in the country and/or at Lewis & Clark College.
High school diploma or equivalent.
One or more years of prior office experience.
Strong computer skills including detailed and accurate database entry experience.
Intermediate MS Office and Google Docs knowledge.
Ability to learn new software and data processing procedures.
Ability to answer questions and explain explain procedures.
Ability to communicate professionally with a diverse group of customers and employees.
Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position.
Ability to work cooperatively with others.
Ability to match names and numbers quickly and accurately.
Working knowledge of correct English, grammar, spelling and punctuation for use in simple sentence structure.
Ability to follow oral and written directions.
Ability to screen mail, telephone calls and visitors and maintain confidential files.

Hours/Days per week: Monday through Friday, 20 - 37.5 hours per week. This position will be for a duration of 6 months.
