Job Summary: Reporting to the FOA Human Resources Manager, the incumbent will assist with and coordinate recruitment/selection activities and provide departments with guidance as it relates to policy and contracts. The position also coordinates and assists with various consolidated human resources activities and functions for the operating units within FOA - 1800 + employees and students. The position acts as a liaison between FOA, campus HR and the department for routine coordination issues.
Physical Demands: Must be able to work at a computer terminal and/or desk for extended periods of time.
Work Environment: Employee is personally responsible for following health and safety guidelines/instructions. Work occasional overtime and on short notice.

Minimum Qualifications: Experience working in a human resources environment in a large complex organization.
Experience with human resources practices, policies, and procedures.
Experience in recruitment and selection activities, reference checks, and salary administration.
Experience working in a customer service driven environment.
Experience with web-based recruitment and personnel systems
Analytical and fact finding skills to elicit information with discretion to clarify inquiries and requests; to develop creative solutions to general problems, initiative to attempt unfamiliar projects/assignments; and to respond with flexibility to requests for assistance.
Writing skills to independently compose position descriptions, interview questions, correspondence, and analyses.
Experience using software such as Word, Excel, E-mail, calendar, and other computer programs to produce documents, forms, reports and spreadsheets.
Preferred Qualifications: Skill to research, read, and apply federal/state/university rules, regulations, policies, and department mission, goals, and objectives.
Experience using human resources information systems (PPS/OPTRS preferred) and financial systems (DaFIS, and Decision Support, preferred) and PeopleAdmin.
Knowledge of collective bargaining unit contracts/agreements.
Organizational skills to achieve timely progress on multiple simultaneous projects, meet tight deadlines and maintain a high level of productivity.
Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to clearly and effectively interact with a diverse group of individuals to secure and/or provide information to clarify situations, provide training, resolve problems, and provide feedback.
Problem solving skills to define and analyze issues and to independently develop and implement solutions.
