Christiana Care Health System is currently seeking a Senior Employee Relations Specialist to serve as the employee relations subject matter expert supporting physicians and physician leadership in creating an optimal practice/work environment that leads to a positive physician employment experience. This individual will be based out of our administrative offices in Newark, DE (45 minutes south of Philadelphia).
Provides HR guidance to physicians and physician leadership regarding HR policies, conflict management and best practices related to employment.
Assists in the development and implementation of physician engagement and retention initiatives aligned with business goals and Christiana Care's values of Excellence and Love.
Collaborates with physician leadership to conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations involving employed and community physicians and provides recommendations for appropriate action consistent with CCHS policies, Medical/Dental policies and bylaws, ACGME/GMED guidelines.
Supports physician leadership resolving physician performance or behavioral issues.
Functions as an HR liaison between physician units/departments, credentialing, legal, medical/dental office and other HR sections to interpret and communicate HR policies and provide guidance to maintain labor law compliance.
B.S. degree in Human Resources or related field. Master's degree preferred.
Five years of experience in employee relations required; preferably in healthcare.
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification or PHR Certification preferred.
Some leadership experience preferred.
Skill in interpersonal relations, conflict and change management.
Ability to use excellent persuasion, negotiation, communication and collaborative problem-solving skills.
Able to communicate confidently, exercise influence and elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management and key stakeholders.
Able to manage relationships through influence and collaboration.
