The HR & Budget Coordinator plays a critical role in providing personnel and budgetary support for the School of Law under the direction of the Manager of Finance and Administration at the School of Law. This position manages all personnel actions, including creation of job requisitions and onboarding of staff, faculty, temporary non-students and part-time faculty hires. This position will also manage immigration procedures, time tracking, and serve as a liaison between HRM and the School of Law.
The position is also responsible for the financial transactions of the School of Law. These responsibilities include management of the day-to-day financial transactions of the College, including processing expense reimbursements, executing budget transfers, creating journal vouchers. In addition, the position will perform periodic budget reconciliations, and track and report on department budgets. This individual will serve as a liaison to department administrators on financial matters.
This role requires a high level of customer service, problem solving, data management, and confidentiality.
A Bachelor's degree is required with two–five years of personnel and /or budget experience, preferably in higher education or a customer service field. Demonstrated computer literacy and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite is required. The successful candidate must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent initiative and follow-through skills, and the ability to work independently and as a member of the team. Excellent written and oral communication is key, along with the ability to work in a busy, sometimes hectic environment. The individual must be comfortable working with a diverse population, learning new software programs and working with data. Individual must exhibit good judgement and discretion while working with confidential information.
