The purpose of this position is to develop reporting solutions for Business Intelligence (BI) in Human Resources (HR). Responsibilities include specifying, developing and implementing customer specific BI solutions to the full satisfaction of the customer and OHSU. Solutions developed will range from basic queries to complex reports and analysis utilizing the functionality of Cognos Analytics, SQL and Excel. This position requires and in-depth knowledge and the ability to design detailed solutions involving calculated fields, query joins and merging data from different data sources. This position will proactively act as an expert on HR data and systems working closely with ITG resources to ensure alignment and continued growth towards a state of the art BI solution.

As a report developer this role is responsible for the design, development, implementation and support of business intelligence reports and data analysis for internal and external customers.
Collaborate with customers to understand business requirements and objectives and design, create and roll out reporting and analytic solutions. This may involve creating complex reports utilizing joined queries. Create ad hoc reports and analysis as requested. Proactively identify opportunities for reporting solutions to meet business needs and work with customers on potential solutions. Adapt reporting to changes in policies and procedures at OHSU and external required needs. Identify and implement solutions for utilizing reporting solutions to streamline and automate manual and inefficient processes.
Participate on numerous small projects with internal customers and ITG performing various roles based on the scope and needs of the project. This may include acting as the project manager, business analyst, subject matter expert, report writer, user acceptance test plan creation or conducting testing.
Responsible for ensuring HR Reporting documentation for internal HR Reporting team procedures as well as end users is current, comprehensive and accessible. This includes reporting standards, processes, templates, report specifications and flow charts.
Design and develop education and training materials on Cognos HR package, core reports and HR data structures. Audiences include new users to Cognos and HR Data as well seasoned users to educate on new functionality and developed reports. Utilize multiple media types for creation and delivery of education/training.
