This position is responsible for assisting the Director with the administration of institutional human resources policies and practices for the College. Emphasis is on benefit administration, compliance and compensation analysis, as well as with employee relations and Title IX issues. The budgeted salary range for this position is $68,000-$72,000.
Responsible for the administration of benefit programs regarding plan options, policy features, enrollment and communication;
Assists Director in the planning, developing and redesigning of benefits and benefit costs;
Ensures compliance with federal and state laws;
Responsible for Workers comp, Unemployment, COBRA and all benefits management.
Plan Administrator to the College's Defined Contribution Retirement Plan/403(b) Plan.
Responsible for the Annual Plan Audit; Plan Document, Summary Plan Description, Investment Committee and Plan Amendments.
Researches, gathers, interprets and analyzes data to compare and define compensation levels for new and current employees;
Participates in salary surveys and formulates salary recommendations.
Ensures compliance in the area of health and welfare benefits, retirement benefits, compensation and EEO.
Serves as the College's Deputy Title IX Coordinator.
Assist the Director in planning, designing and presenting on-site training events for all faculty and staff;
Maintain and update the College historic trainings;
Design and implement wellness programs in collaboration with Health Plan and the Wellness Committee.
Responsible for the participation in a resolution of employee relations problems, this includes HR investigations.
Interviews, assists with the coordination of Employee Orientation, and Employee Events;
Other duties as assigned
This position requires an individual who is highly detail oriented and has the ability to navigate and comprehend a highly matrixed institution with very detailed policies and procedures. This individual must have strong interpersonal and organizational aptitude, excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to take initiative and work well independently as well as with others.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or related field required, Master's preferred;
5-7 years of relevant HR Management experience with a generalist background required, including solid technical skills and experience managing HRIS systems, general knowledge and practical application of payroll and benefit administration and regulatory compliance, college/university experience a plus;
Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills;
Ability to build relationships with employees and possess conflict resolution skills;
Work competently and efficiently while prioritizing work in a fast-paced environment with multiple and often conflicting interests; adhere to deadlines;
Flexible, adaptable, and able to work in a changing environment;
Evaluate problems accurately and display good judgment in solving them;
Take responsibility, work well both as a team member and independently;
Solid computer skills in a PC environment with the capability to master new software applications;
Expertise in the functional use of Outlook, Excel, and Word. Ellucian Colleague experience a plus;
Some evening and weekend work will be required.
