Advertised Job Summary:
Reporting to the Manager of Distributed Human Resources, the incumbent serves as the HR Manager for the Division of Administration & Finance (DAF) and provides oversight in all aspects of DAF Human Resources activities. Incumbent works closely with the Chief Operating Officer. The incumbent is required to exercise independent judgement and exhibit confidentiality at all times.
Oversees and directs the day-to-day HR activities for Division of Administration and Finance. Develops Department HR Contacts within their respective areas to best serve their employees.
Reviews and approves Division HR actions based on the approved Personnel Action Plans (PAP) in PeopleAdmin and PeopleSoft with weekly collaboration with the finance liaison. Advises Chief Operating Officer (COO) of PAP status and implementation on a quarterly basis. Provides guidance for Department HR contacts to ensure proper system actions are completed and processed in a timely manner.
Provides guidance on HR procedures and interprets HR related policies for Division of Administration and Finance leadership as well as Department HR contacts.
Serves as backup support to HR Operations and Classification/Compensation.
Works with Division HR on various initiatives to improve HR practices across the university system. Pilots programs of value and provides solution based feedback to Central HR leadership.
Assists campus colleges/divisions when their HR Contact is on leaves of absence.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree and 5 years experience in human resources management programs. Experience with state human resources regulations and USC human resources policies and procedures.
