Job Title: Director of Human Resources Reports To: President / CEO FLSA Status: Exempt
PURPOSE OF POSITION As a key contributor of the Executive Staff, the Director of Human Resources establishes the overall direction for planning, development, implementation and administration of all HR and people programs. As the sole HR presence on site the Director will fill both a tactical and strategic role for the Cooperative.
RESPONSIBILITIES A. Full cycle employment, recruiting and onboarding. B. Manages and oversees all benefit plan administration and compliance reporting for employees and retirees including medical, dental, vision, HSA, FSA, LTD, life insurance, 401(k), defined-benefit pension and Medicare offerings. C. Acts as facilitator to help maintain and enhance employee engagement along with corporate goal execution. D. Jointly responsible for the implementation of corporate policies, procedures and overall business strategy as it relates to people. E. Serves as primary contact to ensure effective employee relations in matters of supervision, discipline, discharge and performance evaluation. Makes certain that practices are consistent with federal, state, local and collective bargaining agreements. F. Investigate, manage and review workers compensation claims. G. Conduct periodic reviews of the total compensation program and suggests changes as necessary. H. Supports Apprenticeship, Safety and Employee Activities committees.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No direct reports.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. B. 3+ years' experience in HR field, preferably in generalist role. C. HRCI/SHRM certification preferred but not required. D. Demonstrated ability to bring people together and foster positive employee relations. E. Strong attention to detail. F. Ability to naturally prioritize and hit deadlines. G. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally and accurately across all departments.
WORK CONDITIONS Work performed indoors will occur within an office setting utilizing a number of technological devices such as a telephone, Smartphone, personal computer, etc. Occasional travel outside cooperative service territory for meetings and training.
