Summary Sr Human Resources Assistant B.2
Responsible for administering employee benefit programs, HRIS data management, HR Department operations and financial administration. Serves as the central point-of-contact for the Human Resources Department answering employee and management questions, providing training and support for use of HR technology solutions, administering assigned HR programs and coordinating information with HR colleagues.
Purpose and Mission
* Assists and advises employees and managers on NRECA's Human Resource policies, procedures, programs and technology solutions to include, but not limited to, employee benefit programs, FMLA and Leave Administration, service awards, Service Excellence Recognition program, Oracle Self-Service and Cornerstone talent management system. * Coordinates the new hire, employee change, and termination processes. Enters employee data into the HRIS and updates the online organizational chart accordingly. Collaborates with benefits and payroll team members to ensure accurate data entry and payroll processing within bi-weekly deadlines and schedule. * Collaborates with the Benefits Coordinator to share responsibility for Leave Administration, including communicating with impacted employees and their managers, coordinating required paperwork, coding employee time cards and coordinating the appropriate HR Business Partner with challenging ADA or leave cases. * Welcomes new employees to the organization by conducting new hire orientation. * Assists with managing the Human Resources budget. Enters budget recommendations into the Hyperion during annual budget development period. Reviews and monitors monthly financial reports and works with Finance to correct discrepancies. Codes and submits invoices for payment. * Responsible for purchasing offices supplies, sorting mail and filing. Performs other administrative or support duties infrequently when needed, including coordinate meetings and communications for the SVP of HR, coordinating interview schedules, reviewing and editing materials, helping with employment law requirements and postings, responding to employment verifications and processing background checks.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or similar field. * 2 years of human resources experience supporting HR operations, benefits and/or systems. * Experience with databases and data entry with aptitude for technology. * Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). * Understanding of HR program and policies along with a commitment to HR principles of confidentiality required. * Experience delivering service excellence and acting as a trusted adviser to employees and managers. Listens effectively and interprets colleagues' needs to de-escalate difficult situations. Works collaboratively with peers to research or troubleshoot issues and follows through to a positive resolution. * Experience utilizing HRIS software (Oracle R12 and ADP Workforce NOW preferred) in the day-to-day essential duties. * Uses effective interpersonal and collaboration skills to establish positive relationships while operating in a fast-moving environment. * Experience managing competing deadlines and multiple projects at various stages of development using effective organization skills as demonstrated by prior work experience. Comfortable performing and working on multiple tasks and adapting to changes in priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy. * Excellent attention to detail and comfortable working with calculations, spreadsheets and financial reports.
