The Office of Human Resources is searching for a Manager of Data and Analytics. In this role, you will support the transformational efforts underway by executing on human resources strategic initiatives. You will utilize data science practices to identify, quantify, and solve high value business challenges related to human capital strategy, and apply methods for conveying and visualizing data and insights to senior leadership across campus.
You will be responsible for:
Designing, implementing and ensuring the delivery of holistic, structured and analytical approaches focused on data storytelling that communicates the business implications and the recommended course of action.
Synthesizing and analyzing data from a variety of internal and external sources.
Planning, directing, coordinating and operationalizing reports and analytics tools that serve as an incentive for change by helping leaders and managers make data informed decisions about the workforce.
Managing the development of tools to optimize workforce planning and management (manager dashboards, reports).
Acting as an internal consultant to HR, as well as college/division leaders, regarding the use of workforce data and analytics; connecting with key leaders and individual contributors to understand the data.
Completing sophisticated data analysis to measure effectiveness of key HR programs across CMU and reporting results to leadership.
Identifying trends and visualizing data across the university that provide insights into performance.
Ensuring data integrity and partnering with HR leadership to identify and implement effective data entry and management practices; collaborating closely with HR Technology on data quality and integrity.
May supervise others.
You will demonstrate:
Ability to execute complex analytics to help data driven decisions, ability to perform detailed statistical analysis to identify actionable insights, build predictive models, and produce impactful visualization deliverables;
Capacity to think creatively and develop new analyses and insights to HR data and information;
Effective presentation, communication, and documentation skills;
Skill converting raw data into action plans, scorecards, dashboards, and presentations;
Ability to work independently and coordinate with organizational units;
A team approach and flexibility in your tactics; and
Passion in championing change management efforts.

Minimum seven years of relevant experience required; experience in data science, advanced analytics, and data highly desired.
Demonstrated knowledge in statistical analysis techniques, research methodology, data management and visualization desired.
Knowledge around database, query, and reporting tools; as well as fundamental understanding of systems architecture and database concepts.
Experience within a human resources division and/or higher education preferred; experience with Workday HRIS a plus.
