Involves recommending, developing, implementing, administering, coordinating, and / or evaluating Human Resources policies, labor contracts, statutes, programs and procedures covering several of the following: recruitment, compensation, employee relations, labor relations, payroll, benefits, welfare programs, training and development, visa procurement, inter-location transfers, and employee services.
Under direct supervision, applies professional HR concepts, policies and procedures in the completion of HR assignments that are of limited scope and impact. Receives instructions on most work assignments, and regularly consults with HR specialists in the course of completing increasingly complex assignments. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing HR situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Exercises some judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action.
Serves as a member of the Compensation team, supports the Compensation team in their various functional roles. Provides professional support, gathers and evaluates information. Ensures policy and procedure compliance, and communicates to campus clients on compensation processes and procedures. Works collaboratively with staff and campus constituents. Manages sensitive and confidential information and effectively and collaboratively interacts with client groups.
Assists with various human resources plans and procedures for all campus constituents; assists creating internal procedures. Assists in monitoring the performance evaluation merit program. Responsible to log, and disseminate Employee Action Requests (EAR) actions for Equity, Stipends and reclassifications and track volume and trends. Assist with data analytic projects and presentations.
Compensation is responsible for managing and administering the following: compensation planning, development and administration; classification and reclassification of positions; implementation of wage changes; salary administration and awards; Fair Labor Standards Act implementation and training; collection and distribution of salary survey data. The selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal background check.
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience and training
Analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations; demonstrates organizational skills and problem-solving skills
Acquiring knowledge of the organization's policies and procedures, and knowledge of functional area
Ability to acquire knowledge of human resources policies and programs and organization policies and procedures
Basic knowledge of a human resources management system (HRMS), and / or other related business software programs and systems
Selected candidate will be required to:
-pass a pre-employment criminal history background check
-complete required compliance trainings as directed
Must have the ability to:
-work long periods of time at a computer with or without accommodation
-work occasional nights and weekends
-travel to attend meetings, trainings, etc., both on-and off campus
