The Organizational Development and Learning team at Boston University is looking for a creative, enthusiastic, organized professional to join our team!
The OD&L Specialist will provide program administration as well as deliver client-facing programming throughout the University's diverse schools and organizations. Whether it is planning our annual programming schedule, marketing a new learning program, or facilitating learning sessions, this role offers the opportunity to engage in organizational development and learning activities from many angles. The right candidate will be someone with demonstrated organizational skills who has some experience with project management, basic facilitation, and process improvement.
The Learning Specialist will both administer internal programs and facilitate external engagements such as learning programs, team building activities, and change management initiatives.
The Learning Specialist role consists of the following essential functions:
Micro-Learning Library Curation
Metrics and Program Evaluations
Project Management, Marketing, and Communication
Work with university-wide clients to lead programming by facilitating meetings and planning sessions (live and in other web-enabled formats) and deliver programming in line with interests, goals, and client needs including, but not limited to:
Facilitation responsibilities may also include some operational work around culture change or change management.
Micro-Learning Library Curation
Extend the team's reach by leveraging and marketing existing micro-learning content under the direction of the e-Learning Consultant. Create plan for highlighting new content, retiring outdated content, and blending content with current programming.
liaise with clients looking to recommend content to staff
create communications and marketing plan to highlight content to clients
create opportunities to provide feedback and implement enhancements to current libraries
Metrics and Program Evaluation
Monitor quality and consistency across programming with a focus on generating ideas to make data-driven improvements, working closely with other team members to collect necessary data.
track and report on metrics and dashboards on a quarterly and annual basis.
monitor quality and consistency across all programming
develop survey tools and other data collection methods for new programming and pilots
responsible for the creation and publication of quarterly and annual dashboards.
utilize existing metric-based data to improve data collection to aligned with team and individual goals
Project Management, Marketing and Communication
Project manage the program design of new initiatives as well as the redesign of existing programming. Participate in developing communication and marketing material for initiatives. Collaborate with internal colleagues as needed for program development and strategic alignment of programs and services.
ensure and improve the quality of learning materials for all ODL programming
act as brand manager to ensure all programming-related materials are edited, formatted and consistent. This includes PowerPoint slides, facilitation guides, communications, handouts, surveys, website marketing etc. Contribute to the development of new materials.

The Learning Specialist will possesses strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and project/program management skills, experience implementing and supporting Organizational Development solutions, intellectual independence and problem solving ability, tolerance for ambiguity, and is organizationally savvy.

DiSC coaching for individuals
Facilitates online webinars and workshops related to ODL content
Creates marketing materials related to ODL offerings such as DiSC
Familiar with tools like RASCI, MS Project, Communications and Project Plans
Assist in the design of blended learning programs
Performs testing at direction of eLearning Consultant when LMS new releases, upgrades and patches are performed.
Facilitates and participates in setting up ILT and Blended programming on LMS.
