HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT , Media Laboratory , to provide support to the Media Lab community as part of its HR team, specifically in the areas of onboarding, record maintenance, financial support, and general HR activities. Will submit appointment and change transactions and coordinate new hire paperwork; conduct new hire orientations and prepare new hire packets; prepare letters, memos, and other template correspondence; prepare visa paperwork and documentation; assist with processing MITemps requests; use an applicant tracking system as part of the interview scheduling, hiring manager follow-up, and applicant communication processes; maintain directories, mailing lists, and job posting logs; update web pages; collect and monitor receipt new hire documents; track and generate reports/spreadsheets; maintain HR staff information board and assist with creating posters, collateral, and personalized communications; make purchases and prepare purchase orders; reimburse expenses; coordinate travel and associated paperwork; review and approve weekly payroll; coordinate meetings and events; assist with business cards requests; and perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED : a high school diploma; at least three years' experience in an HR support role; ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a creative and diverse group of people and as part of a team; sound judgment and ability to satisfactorily solve sensitive problems; confidentiality, discretion and diplomacy; attention to detail and accuracy; ability to handle competing and changing priorities, learn quickly, and work with critical time demands; strong organizational, customer service, and verbal and written communications skills; proficiency with Mac computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Gmail, and Google Apps. Bachelor's degree and experience with Salesforce, SAPgui, Concur, PeopleFluent, BrioQuery, and Cognos preferred. Job #17234-5
