The Academic HR Analyst serve as the primary resource on academic personnel issues for the Associate Deans, Academic Personnel Manager, Department Managers and department staff. This position has primary independent responsibility for management of department faculty recruitments, and ancillary support for high-level academic recruitments (Associate Deans, Department Chairs, Center Directors, and Endowed Chairs). Provides consultation, analysis, review, and instruction of the academic recruitment process, recruitment waivers and Tentative Offer Letters to department personnel. Serves as the liaison and expert for the campus Partner Opportunity Program in the School of Medicine and provides guidance on all ancillary recruitment policies. This position also serves in the back-up role for the School of Nursing.Required:-Advanced knowledge and understanding of Academic Personnel policies and procedures-In-depth knowledge of the Academic Personnel Manual to include faculty recruitment, appointment, merit, appraisal and promotion process-Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills to effectively respond in a professional manner by email, in person, or by telephone.Preferred:-Experience with UCD Academic Personnel, preferably within School of Medicine- Advanced knowledge and understanding of UC policies and procedures governing Academic Senate, Academic Federation, Unit 18 and academic bargaining units-Understanding of the NIH cap as applied to faculty compensation-Experience with eHR, Payroll and Personnel System (PPS) and the Academic Personnel History and Information Database (APHID)-Experience with MyInfoVault and RECRUIT (UC Davis on-line recruitment) systemsSPECIAL REQUIREMENT-Must be able to work variable schedule as needed.-THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT
