The Santa Ana Unified School District is seeking an Assistant Superintendent, Human Resources. This cabinet-level position works under the general direction of the Superintendent.
This position plans, organizes, and implements the overall operation of the Human Resources Division as it relates to the following: monitors the expenditure of funds assigned to the Human Resources Division to ensure maximum effectiveness and achievement of defined District objectives; maintains and ensures a continuous personnel appraisal and evaluation system and acts on the findings; and submits an annual report to the Superintendent.
The candidate must have knowledge of current educational administration principles and practices, including site-based management, supervision, evaluation, and training. The candidate must also have knowledge of human resources operations, functions, and responsibilities, and the appropriate supportive services required to ensure operational effectiveness.
The successful candidate will have:
A master’s degree (required)
Doctorate degree (desired) and five years’ teaching experience
Three years of experience as a site principal or district-level administrator
Effective communication skills to work with individuals, organizations, community groups, and the public
Knowledge of laws and regulations as it relates to personnel practices in public schools in California
Bilingual preferred (Spanish)
