Primary Role: Under the general direction of the School of Liberal Arts Dean, the Supervisor/ HR Specialist manages human resources and serves as HR liaison for the campus HR Business Partner, supervises Administrative team, collaborates and provides support to faculty, management, and staff on employment, compensation, employee relations, training and professional development. Develop and implement procedures, processes and programs to facilitate human resources and academic administration and ensure compliance.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Administrative Team Supervisor: manage daily operations and supervision of Administrative team; manage Administrative Team's Shared Service model; evaluate and implement improvements as needed; evaluate and implement methods to engage employees and increase teamwork; support training and professional development
HR Specialist: perform human resources functions in collaboration with campus HR Business Partner for all departments within the school by providing support for employment, compensation, employee relations, performance management, training and professional development. Develop and implement procedures, processes and programs to facilitate human resources and academic administration and ensure compliance; serve as HR liaison for the campus HR Business Partner that includes but not limited to coordination of activities involving Office of Equal Opportunity and Human Resources Administration, assisting in reviewing, creating and modifying job descriptions, approve all job description questionnaires and postings.
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, plus 2 years supervisory and human resources experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent communication skills for preparing correspondence, documents and reports, utilizing correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation; excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills for effectively dealing with a broad range of individuals at various levels within the University; strong relationship building skills for independently establishing effective working relationships with management, faculty and staff at all levels of the School and demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team; ability to supervise staff, including hiring, training, assigning and monitoring workload and evaluating performance; and high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point), Adobe, Human Resources Management System, and PeopleAdmin system.
PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP certifications.
