Position Summary and ResponsibilitiesThe Human Resources Specialist will provide specialized administrative assistance for the operations of the Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for analyzing billings for benefit plans and department expenditures against payments made, which may include complex cases.
Monthly auditing of benefit invoices to ensure reconciliation with payroll records;
Continuous follow-ups to elevate and escalate reconciliation issues to the Benefits Manager;
Establish effective working relationships within HR as well as with relevant internal departments (e.g., Payroll, CIS, Accounting Services);
Preparation of timely and accurate billing and reconciliation reports for Benefits Manager as well as for various auditors;
Provide backup for employee data management;
Pay and reconcile all other non-benefit expenditures for HR as assigned, P-card, etc.;
Update Associate Vice President of Human Resources on departmental expenditures on a regular basis.
Qualifications Qualifications: Three to five years of specialized administrative experience; prior experiences in Human Resources and/or Accounting benefits a plus. An Associate's degree of equivalent is preferred; Strong analytical, organizational and multi-tasking skills; Detail oriented, flexible and creative; Ability to independently prioritize work and establish, understand and follow work rules and procedures, and take action to improve existing processes. Tact, diplomacy and the ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality are required, as is a demonstrated ability to exercise resourcefulness and professionalism while managing multiple tasks simultaneously; Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with diverse constituencies, including competence with oral and written communications; Computer literacy; MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint) with strong Excel skills a must; experience working with a large database system (e.g., Workday, Banner, etc) preferred; Evidence of strong time management and organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently with limited supervision and instruction.
