Under the supervision of the Managing Administrative Assistant in the Compensation unit, the Program Assistant is responsible for performing basic professional functions related to the employment of part-time employees and Adjuncts in accordance with established human resources principles, university policies and procedures and federal and state laws/regulations. This position is responsible for onboarding all part-time employees and adjuncts; payroll processing; communicating with hiring departments to ensure timely employee hiring; and performing additional duties as required. This position may require additional work hours during peak pay periods.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree required. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute experience on a year-for-year basis. Applicants who possess an Associate’s degree may substitute two (2) years of position-related experience for the remaining two (2) years of education. Previous human resources experience in an institution of higher education is preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
The selected candidate will be required to pass a four (4) month Working Test Period to become eligible for a regular appointment.
